Diversity and Inclusion has been a key focus for Fehr & Peers since our inception in 1985. While we are proud of the progress we’ve made over the years, we realize that we have much more work to do and we are continually seeking ways to improve. We do so by routinely engaging a broad group of staff from around the company in conversations to identify ways to further evolve our Diversity and Inclusion efforts at both the company-wide and office level. This includes regular group meetings, annual actions, and periodic company-wide reporting of metrics such as:

  • Recruiting statistics including our target universities, diversity-focused events, etc.
  • Diversity of our workforce compared to industry averages and the communities we serve
  • Diversity of our workforce for various staff levels
  • Gender pay equity analysis
  • Corporate equality index

We are also continually investing in our staff to improve the Diversity and Inclusion aspects of our consulting skills through such means as company-wide training programs on equity, trust-building, communication, and cognitive bias; as well as new services to clients in the areas of community engagement and conflict resolution.

Transforming transportation consulting is a key motivator for all of the work we do. Beyond our consulting work with clients, we also are actively involved in many aspects of the industry to advance the state-of-the-practice and individuals working within it. Through our subsidiary, Left Lane Advisors, we provide professional consulting services to companies, institutions, and public agencies in the industry seeking to advance the potential and services provided by their leaders.
