We are excited to announce Francisco Martin as Principal of our Stockton office.

We warmly and excitedly welcome Francisco as he rejoins Fehr & Peers. An industry veteran, he formerly served our Bay Area clients for over 13 years and was instrumental in opening our Oakland office in 2012. Now leading our downtown Stockton office, his experience, expertise, and leadership will build upon the 25 years of service and commitment to our Central Valley clients as we lock step with the region’s exploding growth.

Serving A Booming Region

Seeking lower costs of living, strong job markets, and proximity to nature, many Californians are opting to relocate. However, rather than leaving the state altogether, a growing contingent is choosing to stay but migrate inland from pricey coastal counties. With San Joaquin County poised to emerge as a primary beneficiary of this migration, State estimates project the Central Valley and other inland counties to have the fastest population growth through 2060.

Positioned for this and the other emerging trends, Francisco and our Stockton office will continue to serve and deepen our Central Valley client relationships while increasing our scalability to meet regional demands. As he engages with valley agencies, Francisco will build on our extensive history of over 650 projects delivered in the region. As a local resident, he will experience some of the needs firsthand, and as office principal, he’ll be able to leverage local community needs with our state-of-the-practice resources and the R&D efforts of our Northern California and national teams.

Passionate About Land Use & Transportation

Observing land use and urban planning through a transportation lens is not only Francisco’s passion and expertise, but it also fittingly aligns with the Central Valley’s projected growth. Increasing pressure from population expansion can often lead to haphazard or mismatched development whereby bike trails, sidewalks, pedestrian and bike safety, public transportation, and other systems that link activities and users can be left without consideration. With a nuanced understanding of balancing development and community expansion alongside local and regional transportation needs, Francisco will champion integrated planning as he collaborates with local agencies, governments, and MPOs, to enhance policies and promote projects that align with those policies.

Please join us in welcoming Francisco back to Fehr & Peers! If he or our Stockton team can assist you with your transportation challenges, contact us!
