More About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Create products that are professional and communicate effectively (e.g. transportation planning maps, project document/deliverables, high-end presentations, public meeting collateral, project diagrams/graphics, web tool design, etc.)
  • Perform basic to complex data analytics and mapping functions in support of transportation projects including GIS Systems and databases
  • Excel at cartographic design skills, with the ability to complete the cartography in a GIS setting
  • Perform various levels of technical illustration in Adobe Illustrator
  • Create and manage Geodatabases, and develop or use GIS-based modeling tools
  • Collaborate on marketing and project deliverables strategies
  • Collaborate with multiple specialized groups on companywide graphic design and cartography best practices
  • Show strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GIS tools, extensions, and applications; mapping techniques and principles (Required)
  • Graphic design theory knowledge and interest, and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e. Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Experience using combinations of Esri products for various results
  • Ability to work and collaborate effectively with other creative and analytical staff
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand client questions and explain analytical results clearly and concisely (verbally, written, and visually)
  • Effective interpersonal skills and commitment to collaboration
  • Knowledge or interest in programming languages such as Python, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Interest in researching new, innovative, and emerging technologies
  • Interest in using visualization tools such as Sketchup, City Engine
  • 2+ years of practical and applied work experience (consulting experience a plus)
  • Portfolio of work required (containing finished projects using GIS, graphic design applications, and/or 3D simulations. Github link also accepted)
