Analyze and solve complex transportation planning and engineering problems dealing with all modes of travel

Keep up with industry trends and also have rigorous analysis that clearly communicates results with decision makers.

Use a variety of software programs and analysis methods effectively and make timely and informed recommendations to clients, elected officials, and stakeholders

Work on a variety of projects, including traffic and transit microsimulation, multimodal corridor studies, transportation demand management plans, transportation impact studies, bicycle and pedestrian facility planning and design, and local/regional transportation plans

Manage projects and develop solid internal and client relationships

Provide quality control oversight of technical analysis

This position will be based in Walnut Creek, CA.

About You

The minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in transportation or civil engineering, transportation/urban planning, or related major
  • At least five years of work experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • multimodal transportation planning
    • transportation operations analysis (particularly VISSIM and Synchro)
    • travel demand modeling (e.g., TransCAD, Cube, VISUM)
    • data science, statistics, and visualization (e.g., ArcGIS, Python, R, D3, SQL)
  • Experience managing planning and engineering projects for public and private sector clients
  • Comprehensive knowledge of transportation planning and engineering principles and practices (e.g., Complete Streets, MUTCD, HCM, CEQA, NEPA)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal relationship skills, and visual communication and presentation skills
  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit through personal drive and initiative
  • Professional license or certification preferred (e.g., PE, AICP, PTP)

Experience managing projects in the Bay Area is preferred but not required.
