Live in Sacramento and experience…

Continuous Growth & Opportunity

Sacramento is experiencing a transformation not seen since the Gold Rush. Catalyzed by substantial reinvestment in Downtown Sacramento, including the world-class Golden 1 Center, a resurgent real estate market is fueling growth throughout the greater Sacramento region. Locals and newcomers alike benefit from our reasonable cost of living, affordable housing, abundant sunshine, and ethnic diversity. Altogether, this dynamic chapter in Sacramento’s history presents an exciting laboratory for transportation planning and engineering practitioners.

Unique Culture

Sacramento is the California state capital and one of the oldest cities in the state. Our past is prevalent to this day, with the established neighborhoods of Midtown, East Sacramento, and Oak Park blending historic homes and mature tree canopies with a thriving restaurant and bar scene. As one of the most diverse cities in the country, Sacramento offers a rich culture that is continually evolving into an incubator of creative and artistic thinking. Pleasant neighborhoods, high-achieving schools, and active youth sports, performing arts, and STEM programs make the Sacramento area an ideal home for families. Sacramento’s location in the sunny and fertile Central Valley contributes to its distinction as America’s Farm-to-Form Capital. Additionally, Sacramento’s mild year-round climate and relatively flat terrain make Sacramento a bicyclist’s paradise. Located at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers, Sacramentans flock to their shores for aquatic activities during the warm summer months.

Central Location

Sacramento is in the heart of Northern California, allowing for convenient access to a diverse array of nearby attractions. Outdoor adventure seekers are only a short drive away from the slopes of the Sierra Nevada, the shores of Lake Tahoe, the hiking trails of Yosemite, and the beaches and redwoods of the Northern California coast. A weekend day trip could include lunch overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, or a visit to some of the world’s finest vineyards, wineries, and hot springs in the Sonoma and Napa Valleys. In whatever direction you travel, you can explore the endless number of natural and man-made wonders that this beautiful state has to offer.
