More About the Role

Fehr & Peers has specialized in providing multimodal transportation planning and engineering services to public and private sector clients since 1985. Our staff are professionals in planning roadways, intersections, traffic signals, parking solutions, interaction of travel modes, transit, bicycle and pedestrian design, engineering, and many other specialized areas that enhance communities. We are located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, easily accessible by transit, walking and bicycling, and are proud to go to work each day knowing our efforts help to improve the communities where we live.

Our Marketing Communications Specialist is critical for helping define and achieve the quality of work and communications that go before our clients. This individual will work collaboratively and creatively with office leadership, project managers, and our visual communications team to collectively achieve this goal. This role encompasses, but is not limited to, the following aspects of communication:

  • Authoring marketing-related content including firm descriptions, project descriptions, resumes, and presentations based on input from staff
  • Copy-editing communications, technical reports, and proposals
  • Formatting documents (using Microsoft Word and Adobe InDesign) and packaging for submission to clients
  • Engaging with the Corporate Communications team to identify the most effective media strategies for promoting Southern California projects, technical initiatives, and recruiting needs
  • Collaborating on proposals, presentations, public outreach, conferences, events, email marketing, promotional strategies, and more

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of related experience, including 2+ years of experience as a writer/editor, document specialist, communications specialist, and/or marketing professional
  • Excellent writing skills as demonstrated through samples and references
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat and InDesign to produce clear and persuasive marketing materials
  • Exposure to social media strategies for a company or organization
  • Four-year college degree preferred in writing, communications, or marketing related programs
  • Graphic design experience (preferred)
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Professional, and conversational written and oral communication skills
  • Extremely organized
  • Personable with a positive attitude
  • Creative, flexible, and able to balance multiple projects without sacrificing quality
