Operations Manager
(Roseville, CA)

Fehr & Peers is a 200-person transportation engineering and planning consulting firm that is proud of its people and culture. We are a financially stable organization with strong capital reserves.  We are seeking a talented and motivated Operations Manager to manage the day-to-day functions of our 45-person Roseville, CA office.  The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the leadership and management of professionals and administrative staff, recruiting and staff development, and P/L responsibilities for an office or business unit.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide leadership and management oversight of a $8.5 million yearly office
  • Enhance staff’s professional growth by conducting effective performance reviews and other coaching and mentoring activities
  • Maintain effective team-based environment
  • Develop office-wide yearly objectives and ensure performance meets expectations
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive and measurable business plan
  • Provide fiscal oversight, including budgeting, financial statements and accounts receivable
  • Collaborate with a variety of individuals including senior technical staff, Corporate staff, and peers in other offices
  • Oversee staff and manage personnel issues
  • Manage staff workload
  • Track and measure office portfolio backlog
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and orient new employees
  • Provide assistance writing proposals, tracking leads, and other marketing functions

Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years management experience in a professional services firm or office of comparable size
  • Proficient in financial management
  • Prior management of a multi-million dollar budget
  • Poise and maturity to be a Fehr & Peers representative to clients and potential employees, including the ability to articulate business goals, vision, culture and environment
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
  • Exceptional communication, coaching, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Direct management experience in an engineering/scientific consulting environment a plus
  • Personable and positive attitude
  • Proficient knowledge of HR personnel practices and applicable labor laws
